I am a a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a member in good standing with the BC Play Therapy Association (BCPTA). I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology and have 7 years of experience working with children youth and families in many different settings including community outreach, mental health and crisis.
Helping families grow and achieve their wellness goals by walking along side them in their journey has been my passion and focus over the years. Through my life experiences I have developed expertise in a variety of treatment approaches that I have found helpful in supporting my clients. I see the importance in working with each client as an individual and using the therapeutic approach that best fits their needs.
I believe that each family is unique; coming from a variety of life experiences that have shaped who they are as individuals and as a system. I enjoy helping individuals and families recognize and build on their strengths and look at the challenges that have been barriers for reaching goals and creating positive change and growth. Family wellness is my focus, considering all domains including physical, mental, biological and spiritual health. I strive to help individuals and families achieve wellness through a collaborative relationship that embraces growth in a safe and supportive environment.
You can often find me enjoying early morning and evening walks with my husband and dog in our community. I feel that it is important to engage in lifelong learning through clinical supervision and attending training to build and to continue to develop my therapeutic skills. On my down time I enjoy skiing, reading, and relaxing on a park bench with my 4-legged friend.
